First official post will be a food post!
Today, I’m going to talk about newly opened Poke place in Houston, Texas called Diced Poke!
I strongly believe that you cannot go wrong with Poke. The reason why I believe that is because I am a pescatarian; I do not eat meats but I can eat seafood. While my options are sometimes limited when I go out to eat to just vegetable dishes and seafood dishes, I’m not complaining. I would like to think that I’m not an aggressively picky eater but there are some things I’m just not willing to eat – mostly squid and octopus.
And now back to the review!
Diced Poke
The store front is right next to a Sichuan restaurant, Spicy Girl, and in front of Winbern Mess Hall.
The interior is very clean and white with plenty of spots to sit.
The ordering system is easy enough – you pick your base, then your protein, lastly UNLIMITED toppings.
[above photo was from soft opening and I got truffle tuna mixed with spicy aioli sauce]
I came back from grand opening and they added bamboo rice and volcano rice! The bamboo rice tastes like green tea rice and it’s surprisingly really good!
The only downside is the location, parking can getting pretty bad depending on the time of day you go. Granted you can pay ~$5 to park in the garage that it’s attached to but most of the time I’m looking for street parking (free).
Price: $ (between $10 – $14 depending on what extra toppings you get)
Location: Midtown Houston || 917 Winbern St suite A, 77002
Overall Recommendation: Yes, check this place out!
